The most important element of your wedding day should be your happiness. After all, this is a day where all your friends and family come together to celebrate you as a couple and your happy ever after. If you are truly happy on your wedding day, which I hope every single one of you is, it will be blinding to your guest. It won’t be the sweet cart or the photo booth they think of fondly or the pretty place cards you spent hours writing. The one thing they won’t be able to forget will be you. “The wedding was amazing they just looked so happy”.
How do you make sure to put your happiness first?
You need to enjoy the process! You could potentially be planning your wedding day for as long as two years depending on when you set your wedding date. It’s so important you make sure you enjoy these months and don’t let the planning become a chore.
Ignore all the wedding myths
The first piece of advice I can give you is that “planning your wedding day is so stressful” is a wedding myth so wipe that from your memory straight away. Yes, it is a big deal, there is a lot of work that goes into planning a wedding, it might be the biggest event you have ever planned, maybe even the most amount of money you have spent on one day but all of that doesn’t mean it needs to be stressful. There are so many emotions you will feel in the build-up to your wedding day but they are mostly the good ones I promise, excitement, nerves, and happiness of course!
You won’t be able to please everyone
Secondly, try not to overshare all your wedding arrangements with family and friends before your wedding day. It is such an exciting time and you will of course want to share some details but keep them to a minimum as sometimes this can warrant unwanted opinions or “advice”. You don’t want to be in a situation where you feel like you should change your plans to make someone else happy on your wedding day.
Don’t sweat the small stuff
Being organised is key in planning your wedding day. It provides you with time to reassess in case your original ideas or plans aren’t going to pan out which intern will eliminate any potential stress. Most importantly it will provide you with clarity on all aspects of your day leaving no room for worry or doubt. This will result in a seamless wedding day making for a very happy Bride & Groom.
It is important to note that no matter how organised you are sometimes things might also happen that were not listed in any of the ten sheets of your very detailed excel sheet!! “The Groom forgot his shoes”, “the Bride forgot her veil”. Do not sweat the small stuff, these are things only you will notice, your guests will be none the wiser so don’t give it a second thought.
Memories that will last a lifetime
Your wedding day is one you will remember for the rest of your life. It is a day to celebrate “the happy couple” with all your friends and family. It is a day to make memories that will last a lifetime so make sure you enjoy every single second of it. Your happiness is always most important!
